Dr Alison Taylor BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian, Senior Small Animal Partner
Dr. Alison is one of the partners here at the Kaleen Veterinary Hospital. She began her career in mixed animal practice in Gerringong before moving to England. She worked there in small animal practice for four years and also managed to see some of the world during this time. After another short stint at the coast, she moved to Canberra in 2004 and has been at Kippax Veterinary Hospital since 2006. During this time she has done further study in radiography, ultrasonography and management of radioactive substances allowing the use of radioactive iodine to treat cats with hyperthyroidism.
Alison has two little boys (Jack and Hugh) to keep her busy when not at work. Her main interests outside of work and family are sport, cooking and traveling.

Dr. Kanchan Iyer BVSc, BSc, ASAVA
Veterinarian, Partner
Kanchan has been working for Capital Paws Group since 2014 and she is now managing the Kaleen practice. She has a special interest in behaviour and internal medicine, and is really enjoying providing a quality and personal service to the local community in and around Kaleen.
While she originally hails from The Hills District in Sydney, she considers herself a Canberran and loves every part of living here. On the weekends you can catch her going for a walk, decorating her home, hanging with her cats (Fern and Patrick) and enjoying time with her family.

Dr. Michael Stern BVSc
Michael graduated from Massey University, New Zealand, in 2021. He then worked in Auckland for 2 years before moving to Australia to join the Kaleen team at the beginning of 2024.
Michael is originally from South Africa, but moved to New Zealand at the age of 6. He spends his spare time playing and watching sports, going on camping trips and spending time with friends.
Michael has an interest in surgery, imaging and managing skin disease. He is looking forward to meeting you and your pets! -
Dr. Annalise Whittingham BVSc
Annalise graduated from the University of Queensland in December of 2024 and has joined our clinic as a new graduate. After growing up in Queensland, Annalise decided to make the leap and move down south to join our clinic. She has loved meeting and getting to know all of the pets and people who call Canberra home.
Annalise grew up surrounded by a large variety of animals, from dogs to chickens and horses, including her family’s four mini foxie chihuahuas Louie, Poppy, EmJ and Quinn.
In her spare time, you can find Annalise exploring Canberras cafes and hiking tracks or reading her latest favourite novel.

Dr. Louise Hales BVSc
Louise graduated from Liverpool University in the UK and spent many years working there in mixed and small animal practice before moving to Canberra in 2017.
Louise joined the Capital Paws Group in 2018, working at both the Kippax and Kaleen Vets.
She has always surrounded herself with animals and has many different pets at home, as well as two young human children.
Louise’s main interests at work are surgery, feline medicine, and seeing the small furry creatures such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and ferrets.
When not at work, Louise is usually taking her daughter to equestrian competitions or doing agility with her border collie Tess.

Dr. Roxanne Peachey BVSc
Graduating from James Cook University 2011, Roxanne enjoys all aspects of small animal general practice. She has been with Kippax and Kaleen Vets since 2018. Roxanne has three human children and two miniature dachshunds.

Dr. Heather Shortridge BVSc
Heather has been working with Capital Paws group since 2015, and prior to that worked in the New England Tablelands and the UK.
A graduate of Sydney University Heather loves being a vet and has a particular fondness for cats. In her spare time Heather is mostly busy with her gaggle of small children, and cats, at home.
Heather is looking forward to meeting you and looking after your furry friends!

Ruby Willcox-Goodisson RVN, DipVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse Manager
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing & Diploma in Veterinary Nursing - General Practice
Ruby started working at our sister clinic – the Weston Woden Animal Hospital – as a kennel hand in April 2012. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2014, and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing General Practice in 2021. After spending many years learning from wonderful colleagues and helping to grow and manage the clinic, Ruby took on a new challenge and moved over to work for us here at Kaleen as the Vet Nurse Manager in early 2021.
Ruby lives in north Canberra with her Kelpie cross Sandy, and betta fish Zuko.
In her free time, Ruby enjoys reading, cooking, crocheting and spending time with family, friends, and her pets.

Brenna Cormack RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Brenna started doing work experience with us in May 2023, while studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and is now a part of the Kaleen team!
Brenna grew up surrounded by animals and has always been interested in working with them, and looking after them, since she was a kid. At home she has three guinea pigs named Artemus, Nyx and Mocha.
Outside of animals Brenna loves playing soccer and has being doing so for over 10 years now. She follows the women’s national team and Arsenal during the league seasons.

Nicole Hutton SVN
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Nicole originally comes from Sydney. Having previously worked in mental health as a registered Art Therapist, she made a career change to work in the Veterinary Industry in 2020.
She is currently working towards obtaining her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, and is very nearly finished!
At home Nicole has a rescue greyhound named Finn, who she enjoys spending her weekends being active with.

Keeley Coppin
Veterinary Nurse
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Keeley started at Kaleen as a work experience student in early 2024, completed her certificate IV in early 2025, and is now a permanent member of our little nursing team!
In her spare time Keeley enjoys horse riding, going to concerts and spending time at home with her two cats - Otis and Maxie.
